Community Partnership Delivers a Bright Future

Epic Energy is proud to have supported a significant lighting upgrade at the Mannum Oval Complex and Showground – an initiative that reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the regions in which we operate.

Thanks to a collaborative effort between Epic Energy, the SANFL, Mid Murray Council, local businesses, and community and sporting groups, the oval’s lighting infrastructure has been replaced with modern light towers. The upgraded lighting was officially unveiled during a community celebration on Thursday, 3 July 2025.

Owned by the Mid Murray Council, the Mannum Oval Complex is a central hub for local sport and community life, hosting organisations such as the Mannum Football Club. Recognising the need for improved facilities, the Club and Council sought external support and funding to make the project a reality.

Epic Energy, alongside the SANFL and the Mannum Football Club, was pleased to contribute funding to the project, helping meet a clearly identified need and delivering lasting benefit to the broader Mannum community. During the construction phase, several local businesses, including Eichler’s Earthmoving, BMH Cranes and Mid Murray Equipment Hire, also lent their support through in-kind services.

Mid Murray Council Mayor Simone Bailey praised the collaboration behind the project, highlighting the positive impact it will have on local engagement and future opportunities.

“We are excited and proud to see the way the Mannum community has come together to build something very special with these new light towers at the Mannum Oval Complex and Showground,” Mayor Bailey said.

“This has been a true collaborative effort, from the efforts of the Mannum Football Club to build momentum for the project, to the support provided by Council, the generous financial contributions from Epic Energy and the SANFL, and the in-kind work and services offered by other local businesses.

“This community facility is at the heart of Mannum. It’s a place where we cheer on our local teams, and where we get together to celebrate and connect. The new light towers mean not only can training and games be held at the oval, it also opens up new opportunities for our community to host major events here.

“This project, combined with the next stage of exciting upgrading works that Council has planned for the precinct, will create a bright future for the Mannum Oval Complex and Showground, and all of the sport and community groups who use this popular space.”

Epic Energy’s Chief Executive Officer, Clive D’Cruz, echoed this sentiment, reaffirming the company’s focus on positive, long-term community investment.

“We’re proud to support this important piece of infrastructure which is transformational for Mannum’s most important recreation and community hub,” Mr D’Cruz said.

“Improved lighting at the oval unlocks significant benefits to sporting and community groups, and the need to upgrade the lights was consistently highlighted last year when we invited the community to tell us what would support a vibrant Mannum community.”

Epic Energy owns and operates the nearby Mannum Energy Park, which includes two solar farms and a battery energy storage system. Our involvement in the lighting project builds on our broader commitment to sustainable energy solutions and meaningful local partnerships.

The lighting upgrade was designed and delivered by CME Group, specialists in sports lighting infrastructure, ensuring a high-quality outcome for the community.
