Mannum BESS Commences Commercial Operations
Epic Energy’s Mannum Energy Park is now fully commissioned with the Mannum BESS commencing commercial operations.

Located alongside Epic Energy’s two solar farms at its Mannum Energy Park, the Mannum BESS can send 100MW of power into the electricity grid for up to two hours, further supporting South Australia’s energy security.
The BESS will absorb surplus energy when demand is low and direct it into the grid to help support the consistent supply of renewable electricity when demand peaks.
Epic Energy’s General Manager, Major Projects Delivery Tom Forde welcomed the news.
“Thank you to all of our internal and external project partners who helped make this complex project a success,” Mr Forde said.
The project was delivered by e-STORAGE, who also provided the battery components, and Adelaide-based Consolidated Power Projects. Collaboration between ElectraNet and AEMO was critical throughout the project, as was the support of the local community.
Epic Energy oversaw construction and will continue to own and operate the BESS.
This milestone means the Mannum Energy Park is now fully constructed and commissioned representing a significant investment in the local area while supporting the South Australian energy system. Epic Energy looks forward to its continuing role in the Mannum community having also recently supported the lighting upgrade at the Mannum Oval Complex and Showground.
Interim Co-CEO Stephen Mudge thanked the project partners and said this reaffirms Epic Energy’s position as a leading energy infrastructure company.
“Epic Energy has been supporting South Australia’s energy security for over 50 years and will continue to play an important role into the future.”
