Powering Mannum’s Future and Community Growth

Epic Energy is proud to contribute significant funding to the much-needed lighting upgrade at the Mannum Oval Complex and Showground, a central hub for local sporting clubs and community events.

The upgrade will replace outdated light towers that have hindered the oval’s use in recent years, creating new opportunities for night games, community events, and more accessible facilities for community groups.

Epic Energy is proud to support the communities it operates in, including Mannum, where our Mannum Energy Park is lighting the way for a sustainable energy future. The Park comprises two solar farms and a battery energy storage system now under construction.

Epic Energy General Manager, Major Projects Delivery, Tom Forde, says Epic was pleased to support a project that would address local needs and benefit a cross-section of the Mannum community.

“Earlier this year we invited members of the community to share their ideas for opportunities that would contribute to a vibrant Mannum community,” Mr Forde said.

“We heard a range of valuable suggestions and the need for new lights at the Mannum Oval was consistently raised, with the current lighting barely sufficient for training, let alone night games.”

The lighting upgrade is a collaborative effort, with Epic Energy’s majority contribution complementing a grant provided by the SANFL and fundraising by the Mannum Football Club.

The Mid Murray Council, which owns the oval complex, has been working towards the lighting upgrade since 2023.

“The Mannum Oval Complex and Showground is an important facility for Mannum, acting as a centre for sport and recreation, as well as a hub for community events and gatherings,” said Mid Murray Mayor Simone Bailey.

“This project will ensure that the Oval not only continues to meet the needs of our community and the many clubs and organisations that use the facility, but also creates new opportunities for events into the future.

Council will oversee the installation of the new lights, ensuring they’re ready for the 2025 winter sports season.
